Are you a creative leader with a passion for pushing artistic boundaries in the gaming industry? We are seeking a remote Art Director for a dynamic project that involves shaping visually immersive worlds for PC and console games. In this role, you will be guiding a talented team of artists to bring an exceptional visual identity to life, while collaborating closely with other department leads to ensure the artistic vision aligns with the game’s fast-paced, action-packed gameplay.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in AAA game development and has successfully led art teams to deliver polished, visually stunning environments and characters. You will provide mentorship to your team, establish efficient pipelines, and ensure the highest quality of game assets, all while contributing to a highly collaborative, creative process.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and guide a multidisciplinary art team to produce top-tier game assets including characters, environments, and UI.
• Collaborate with leadership across design, programming, and production teams to establish and uphold a consistent, captivating visual style.
• Ensure project timelines are adhered to while maintaining the highest visual quality.
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to elevate the team's work, motivating and inspiring creative excellence.
• Oversee the development of art pipelines and workflows, ensuring they are both efficient and performant.
• Collaborate with external partners and teams to maintain the visual direction of the game across all touchpoints.
• Maintain art documentation, including style guides and technical specifications.

Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Art Director on AAA game projects, with expertise in leading a team toward a singular artistic vision.
• Extensive knowledge of game art disciplines such as concept art, 3D modelling, animation, and UI design.
• Strong understanding of colour theory, anatomy, and various art styles.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to lead through clear, constructive critiques.
• Experience with contemporary development tools and pipelines.
• A strong passion for delivering inclusive, diverse, and accessible game designs.
