The Assistant Director of Information Technology, under general direction, plans, organizes, and directs for the Center for Information Technology Excellence (CITE). Assists in the direction, guidance and planning in strategic operations of the department, college, or division.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
Provides strategic vision and leadership on enterprise application operations; has the primary responsibility for the oversight of enterprise student information systems (Ellucian Banner), including business intelligence, data standards and management, application integration, business continuity, reporting, and other enterprise systems operations.
Provide leadership to enterprise application projects, including defining project requirements, project priorities, provide project status updates and deliver projects on time and on budget.
Provides oversight for application testing. Designs Enterprise applications security in conjunction with the security team, ensuring information security and compliance. Actively engage and interact with other functions such as Major Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Knowledge Management.
Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to a team of Application Services team, and indirect staff as well as Managed Services Provider.
Builds relationships with departments, business and academic units, to provide campus wide services, user support, training and improve alignment and communication. Responsible for development and maintenance of enterprise applications runbooks and end-user training material.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Six years of related Information Technology experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of the maintenance and installation of computer and network equipment.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Other Requirements:
Work beyond normal offices hours and/or work on weekends.
