Department Overview:
The Biostatistician 3 supports the research mission of the Center for Reproductive Health Equity. The Center has robust research activity in contraceptive and abortion research, epidemiologic methods, menopause, policy evaluation and health systems. This position requires a Masters degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics or related discipline and 6 years of related work experience or a PhD.
The Biostatistician 3 works with a high degree of independence and as part of teams - the Biostatistics Core in the OB/Gyn department and diverse research teams. They collaborate with researchers/clients in development of research questions, study design, statistical analysis plans, and final reports/publications. The role involves high level innovation and problem solving. Designs tables and statistical procedures for research studies, writes sections of grant proposals, reports, and publications. Independently leads/writes publications for selected projects and participates in their dissemination at professional conferences. Has a detailed understanding of various large and complex data sources and how to leverage them to accomplish research objectives. The candidate will be skillful at communicating with a diversity of learners and Principal Investigators (PI) and able to juggle multiple projects and tight deadlines. Previous experience in reproductive research and content knowledge is required. This position will also lead subject matter/technical training activities and/or lectures for junior analysts and department residents. They serve in leaderhip roles on department committees and provide guidance on improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in departmental research products. Contributes to the broader field of reproductive health research by serving as a peer reviewer and providing subject matter expertise to professional organizations.
