Inaugural CEO – Vault Cloud US

Lead the next era of sovereign cloud for national defense

Vault Cloud is Australia’s leading sovereign cloud provider , now expanding into the United States to deliver mission-critical infrastructure for Defense, Intelligence, and allied government workloads. In a market dominated by hyperscalers not purpose-built for national security, Vault exists to fill the gap - offering high-assurance, sovereign cloud environments aligned with the unique demands of Defense.

We are seeking a founding CEO for Vault Cloud US , a transformative leadership role responsible for launching and scaling a US-owned and operated secure cloud platform built on trust, compliance, and innovation. You’ll be hands-on from day one —building infrastructure, securing accreditation, hiring elite talent, establishing trusted partnerships, and working directly with the US Government.

You’ll report to the US Board and work in close collaboration with Vault Cloud’s Australian founder and global leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Execution:

• Define and deliver the vision, strategy, and go-to-market plan for Vault Cloud US.
• Build and scale a sovereign, accredited cloud platform capable of supporting US Defense and Intelligence workloads.

Government & Industry Engagement:

• Develop and maintain deep relationships across the US Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and strategic partners.
• Navigate procurement pathways and support long-term contracting success.

Operational & Commercial Setup:

• Build the US entity’s operational footprint—including data center strategy, accreditation pathways, compliance programs, and P&L ownership.
• Drive early-stage revenue and customer acquisition.

Global Coordination & Governance:

• Work with the Board, investors, and Vault’s global team to ensure alignment on mission, metrics, and milestones.

Ideal Candidate:

US National Security Experience:

• Proven experience operating at the intersection of technology and defense or intelligence.

Cloud & Hyperscale Infrastructure Expertise:

• Deep technical and commercial understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably with experience in secure, mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on Start-up & Scale-up Background:
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to build and lead teams through the earliest stages of growth.

Public & Private Sector Navigation:

• Adept at bridging government priorities with commercial execution and private-sector innovation.

Bonus:

• Familiarity with the AUKUS framework and the trilateral industrial base and technology ecosystem is a strong plus.
