Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Dietary Aide. Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in the main kitchen about preparing and serving food to patients; duties will vary depending on specific area of assignment.

Job Description

• Maintains cleanliness of pantry refrigerators, reports malfunctions to Supervisor.
• Removes expired food items from pantry and delivers floor stocks as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.
• Collects and disposes of garbage as instructed.
• Ensures sanitary handling of food, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists with food preparation and operates equipment safely.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to Supervisors.
• Washes dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, and operates dish machine.
• Delivers food trucks to patient wards using self-service elevator.
• Enters and updates patient diet orders in computer systems.
• Communicates with doctors, nursing, and Food & Nutrition staff.
• Prints and modifies patient tray tickets, highlights allergens.
• Answers phones professionally and follows customer service protocols.
• Participates in departmental in-services and performs related duties as assigned.

Skills Required

• 6 months experience
• Bilingual preferred
• Comprehends and follows simple instructions. Accepts directions
• Demonstrates knowledge of the operation and care of all equipment.
• Demonstrates simple mathematical skills
• Works cooperatively and is courteous with other colleagues and shows concern for patients.
• Keeps supervisors informed about sanitation and safety issues.

Physical Demands:

• Can withstand the physical demands of standing and walking for most of the day, pushing and pulling, lifting and perform light to heavy cleaning activities.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 251bs.
• Will be exposed to heat and/or cold.
• Will be required to go into refrigerated walk-ins/freezers.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED, Command of English

Additional Requirements

• Shift Time: Mandatory weekends and Holidays. Hours vary, 6 AM or 4 PM shifts - 3 days in the week and sat and sun
• This is part- time position

  Pay Rate

• $22.00 per hour
