Overview Title: Digital Marketing Intern
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Vice President of Marketing
Position Overview E.C. Barton & Company is currently accepting applications for a Digital Marketing Intern. Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in content creation across a variety of digital platforms, as well as other design work. This program offers a unique opportunity in Northeast Arkansas for students to work with an organization that has been around since 1885 and has grown to include three building materials retail brands, totaling 126 stores in 20 states and two eCommerce websites.
Responsibilities Responsibilities and Projects may include - Content creation using design, imagery, and video that adheres to brand guidelines and is relevant to each brand audience, aimed at increasing user engagement across various social media platforms
- Ownership of a lead generation and/or brand awareness project that increases social media followers, engagement, and/or captures email and SMS contacts for future marketing initiatives
- Research and identify potential social media influencers that align with target audience and brand goals
- Research and development of marketing plans related to projects, new markets, company competitors, and target audiences
- Assist with the writing of blog articles - to include research, keyword planning, writing, and posting of content to website platform.
- Data entry
- Other relevant tasks and responsibilities as assigned
- May include attendance to various meetings and strategy sessions to learn more about the inner workings and planning processes of a retail marketing department related to advertising, lead generation, search engine optimization and more.
Qualifications Requirements - College junior or senior studying advertising, graphic design, social media management, creative media production, marketing, or similar programs
- Strong understanding of current social media platforms, audiences, and effective usage as a marketing tool
- Familiarity with design tools and adherence to branding identity guidelines
- Video creation experience is preferred but not required
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to details, written and verbal communication skills, and professional demeanor
- Ability to organize and manage a project from start to finish, meeting time sensitive deadlines
- Creative, collaborative, and eager to learn
Weekly Hours - Interested candidates should be available to work 15-20 hours per week. The schedule will be set according to the student's class schedule and other work obligations. This is an onsite position.
