Under the general direction of the Equal Employment Opportunity Office Chief, a Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent provides technical guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on the department's policies and directives regarding discrimination and harassment. The incumbent applies applicable rules and regulations to ensure the work environment meets state and federal mandates set forth by the California Civil Rights Department (CRD) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Working closely with the Office Chief, the incumbent ensures a fair EEO Program throughout the district and that equal access and employment opportunities are provided to all internal and external customers. The EEO Analyst demonstrates a positive attitude, a commitment to providing quality service that is accurate and timely while maintaining complete confidentiality.

Working Conditions

Position located at 100 S. Main St. Los Angeles, CA, Los Angeles County.

Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.

While at the base of operation, the incumbent will work in a climate-controlled office with natural and artificial lighting, and may  experience periodic episodes of changing office temperature as a result of fluctuating building temperatures. The incumbent may  also be required to travel to and from field office locations throughout the district, and regularly attend, assist with, and support  activities hosted or presented by the Division of Administration that may cause exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold),  dirt, noise, and uneven surfaces. The incumbent will work in a workstation within shared office space. This position may be  eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework  policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs.  Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected  candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may  be required and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be  subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered  location will be the responsibility of the the selected candidate. Working hours will be 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, 5/40 schedule. The incumbent may need to work overtime, or work and travel outside of normal  business hours, after hours, and on weekends to perform various engagement activities.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Special Requirements

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a State owned or leased vehicle.
