What To Expect
As a Tesla Cell Recycling Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, and factory automation. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla's Equipment Maintenance Technicians are also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. What You'll Do Provide day-to-day coverage for production line equipment, responding promptly to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtimeDiagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and communicate actions taken to the teamAchieve expert level proficiency on all assigned machines, overseeing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, cleanliness, and equipment escalationTake initiative to enhance preventive maintenance documents and schedules under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor and LeadsPerform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, including some weekends and holidaysEfficiently utilize manufacturing systems (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking) for effective operationsCollaborate with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross-functional groups to address maintenance issues, enhance equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize downtime
What You'll Bring Areas of specialization: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC and strong Allen Bradley PLC experience desiredProven ability to create and maintain a positive atmosphere in collaborative work teams Effective workload management and contribution to a positive, team-oriented work environment and willingness to perform shift and overtime as requiredExpertise in troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systemsProficient in using various hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and weldingFamiliarity with common workplace software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), along with the ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsMust have command of the English language, written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to work in hazardous areas, handle chemicals, and navigate confined spaces, adhering to safety protocolWear a full-face air-purifying respirator while performing tasks, Maintaining safety standards at all times
