The aim is to help individuals understand, access, and maximize their health care coverage, improving their overall medical, emotional, and financial well-being.

In partnership with local health centers, community organizations, and health education groups, you will be instrumental in creating and delivering educational content to empower these communities. Create educational modules to explain how policy changes may impact an individual's ability to access and use their health care coverage.
Gather feedback from partners and learners to assess the effectiveness of educational materials, and make adjustments as necessary.
Ensure that all educational materials reflect cultural sensitivity and respect.
Lead educational sessions, either in-person or virtually, to teach about the structure of health insurance and its impact on personal health choices.
Build strong relationships with community partners and staff to foster collaborative efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare system.
Experience working with diverse populations, particularly underrepresented communities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
Strong organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
Ability to master complex healthcare topics and communicate them in an understandable way.
Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of adult education principles and experience designing educational programs.
Ability to tailor communication based on the audience's health literacy and education levels.
Access to personal transportation for occasional travel across Kentucky.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Community Health, or a related field.
Experience in health care coverage education or sales.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Familiarity with non-profit work and grant operations.
Experience in print and web communication.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive annual salary of $60,000-$65,000 (based on experience and education), prorated for part-time work.
Flexible schedule with an expected commitment of 20 hours per week.
Stipend for health insurance coverage.
Paid time off.
The position runs from January 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026, with the potential for extension based on future funding.

Equal Opportunity Employment: We are committed to equal employment opportunity for all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, political beliefs, veteran status, or any other protected class. We strive to ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
