JOB DESCRIPTION

The Junior Designer is responsible for supporting the creative marketing team by designing compelling visual content that aligns with the church's mission, values, and branding. This role involves creating digital and print materials for various platforms, including social media, websites, event promotion, and internal communications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for both design and faith, and a desire to use their creative skills to engage the church community and beyond.

This position reports to theSenior Creative & Strategy Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Create visually appealing designs for digital media, print materials, and event collateral, including social media graphics, flyers, banners, and newsletters
• Ensure all designs align with the church’s brand guidelines, message, and vision
• Design graphics and visuals for social media posts, website updates, and online events
• Collaborate with the Senior Creative & Strategy Manager, marketing team, and ministry leaders to deliver innovative solutions for various projects
• Assist in the layout of sermon slides, collateral, and other church publications
• Stay updated on design trends and best practices to keep church materials fresh and engaging
• Incorporate constructive feedback from senior team members and make necessary design revisions
• Help maintain an organized library of design files and templates for future projects
• Other related duties as assigned

You are responsible for communicating the Church’s beliefs and our mission to our congregants, to maintain a lifestyle consistent with the Scriptures, and are required to belong to the Church as part of our faith community.

This will also include:

• Regular attendance at Church services and classes
• Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
• Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church

QUALIFICATIONS

• Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, mission, values, and core beliefs
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
• A passion for storytelling through design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills
• Strong layout and typography skills
• Proficiency with office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with creative software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
