We are looking for a massage therapist to join our spa team. Our resort operates seven days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to work alongside a great team. Must be able to work weekends. Compensation will be based on experience and correlated with service commissions.
Basic Responsibilities of this position include:
1. Always maintain a professional appearance, adhering to departmental grooming standards, in full uniform.
2. Practice professionalism in every situation with co-workers, guests, and management, treating each person with respect and integrity.
3. Greet all arriving and departing guests.
4. Maintain the confidentiality policy for all guests and members.
5. Receive and respond to all guest concerns, comments or complaints with discretion and urgency.
6. Inquire as to the guest experience and level of satisfaction with treatments and services.
7. Perform 30–90-minute services and treatments to clients by appointment.
8. Guide clients through service offerings and determine which services would benefit them most.
9. Take a detailed client prescreen and note any health conditions or determine any client contraindications.
10. Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
11. Follow all procedures and guidelines while administering massage therapy. I.e., adhere to draping policy, refer guests with medical problems to their physicians, adhere to time length and treatment protocols when administering treatments.
12. Advise clients on stretching, strengthening or relaxation methods
13. Suggest future massage appointments and regime to clients.
14. Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
15. Remain current with all staff certifications and licenses.
16. Work individually with guests and members.
17. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Preferred Skills
1. Preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience in Massage Therapy
2. Proven track record of dependability and punctuality.
9. Demonstrate a team player attitude.
10. Excellent organizational skills, time management, and self-starter.
11. Energetic and takes initiative, persistent in pursuing and completing tasks, strives to exceed expectations.
12. Proficient in required job skills and knowledge. Intelligent in grasping and integrating new information.
13. Ability to lift 25-50lbs and work in an upright standing position for long periods of time.
