Overview:
As a Materials Science Researcher in our AI/ML Innovation team, you will be at the forefront of pioneering research into the development of new materials. Leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning, you will contribute to ground-breaking advancements that redefine material properties and applications. This role requires a blend of expertise in materials science, computational modelling, and data analytics to drive innovations from conceptualization through to laboratory validation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and conduct experiments for the synthesis and characterization of new materials, utilizing AI and ML algorithms to predict material properties and performance.
Develop and refine AI/ML models to accelerate the discovery of materials with targeted functionalities.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including data scientists, chemists, and engineers, to integrate AI/ML methodologies into the materials development process.
Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify patterns and correlations between material composition, structure, and properties.
Stay abreast of the latest AI/ML technologies and methodologies, applying them creatively to solve challenges in materials science.
Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences to contribute to the scientific community and enhance the organization's leadership in the field.
Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and secure funding from external sources.
Qualifications:
PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, with a strong focus on AI/ML applications in materials research.
Proven experience in the synthesis, characterization, and analysis of materials.
Solid understanding of and experience with AI/ML algorithms and data analysis techniques relevant to materials science.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in scientific research (e.g., Python, MATLAB) and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
