We’re seeking a Mixed Reality Engineer (aka The Reality Weaver) to design, develop, and deliver immersive MR applications that redefine what’s possible.
As a Mixed Reality Engineer at our client , you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create real-time MR experiences for various applications, from gaming and training simulations to healthcare and industrial design. Your expertise in MR technologies, 3D development, and system integration will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative, user-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Mixed Reality Applications:
- Build immersive MR experiences using platforms like Unity or Unreal Engine, integrating AR and VR features to create seamless digital-physical interactions.
Integrate Sensors, Cameras, and IoT Devices: - Implement and calibrate hardware, including depth cameras, motion trackers, and IoT devices, to enhance the fidelity and accuracy of MR environments.
Optimize Performance for Real-Time Interactions: - Ensure applications run smoothly across platforms, including AR glasses, VR headsets, and mobile devices. You’ll balance rendering quality with performance to deliver lag-free, high-fidelity experiences.
Design Intuitive User Interactions: - Develop gesture-based, voice-controlled, and spatial interactions that feel natural and intuitive. You’ll work closely with UX designers to enhance user engagement and comfort.
Collaborate on Multi-Sensory Experiences: - Integrate haptic feedback, spatial audio, and real-time data visualization to create fully immersive environments. You’ll work with other specialists to synchronize these elements for maximum impact.
Conduct Testing and Iterative Development: - Perform usability testing, identify technical challenges, and refine applications based on user feedback. You’ll troubleshoot issues and implement updates to meet evolving user needs.
Stay Ahead of MR Technology Trends: - Continuously research new tools, SDKs, and methodologies in MR development. You’ll evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate innovative approaches into your work.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in AR/VR Platforms and SDKs: Expertise in Unity or Unreal Engine, with experience in ARCore, ARKit, OpenXR, or similar frameworks for MR development.
- Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in C#, C++, or Python for scripting and integrating real-time features.
- Knowledge of Sensor and Hardware Integration: Familiarity with devices such as Microsoft HoloLens, Magic Leap, Oculus, and other MR-capable hardware.
- 3D Graphics and Rendering Expertise: Understanding of real-time 3D rendering, shaders, and physics engines to create visually compelling MR experiences.
- Experience with Networking and Cloud Integration: Knowledge of integrating cloud services and networking features to enable collaborative or data-driven MR applications.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Game Development, or a related field. Equivalent experience in mixed reality development may be considered.
- Certifications or specialized training in MR development, interactive media, or 3D graphics are advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in AR/VR/MR development, with a portfolio showcasing completed MR projects.
- Familiarity with real-time performance optimization for MR applications across mobile, desktop, and wearable platforms.
- Experience integrating hardware like depth sensors, LIDAR, and motion tracking systems is beneficial.
