An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.This opportunity applies to applicants legally eligible to work in the United States.DurationThis position is funded for an average of 20 hours per week for up to 200 total hours.LocationThis position supports Nez Perce National Historical Park and is on-site.Qualifications:MA/MS Degree in archaeology/anthropology or museum sciences with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Anthropology/Archaeology or Cultural Resources ConservationKnowledge of current acceptable practices of conservation techniques and processes required. Experience conducting conservation on petroglyph and pictograph panels required. Experience documenting archaeology sites via narrative, photograph, GIS, and illustration required. Experience documenting damage to rock art sites required. Experience working in tribal consultation preferred.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS SharePointDuties:This position supports the National Park Service (NPS) Nez Perce National Historical Park (NEPE) Office carrying out all aspects of conservation treatment and preservation for rock art and curated museum objects.Assist the park archaeologist with the documentation and condition assessment of petroglyphs at archaeology sites under the care of Nez Perce National Historical Park 15%Assist the park archaeologist with determining and documenting the extent of damage to and the best course of action for mitigation of that damage to rock art sites impacted by vandalism 15 15%Assist the park archaeologist with conducting consultation with tribal partners to discuss damage to rock art sites, potential course of action for mitigating damages, and developing collaborative actions with tribes that can be taken to mitigate damages to rock art sites 20%Assist park archaeologist with documenting measures taken to mitigate vandalism damage to rock art sites20%Assist museum curator with the assessment and documentation of damage to cultural objects in the museum curatorial facility 15%Assist museum curator with mitigation and stabilization to damaged objects in the museum curatorial facility 15%Other:Overnight travel: One trip anticipatedPhysical requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
