Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team on a contract basis for a six-week assignment in Palo Alto, California. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in accounting, particularly within commercial real estate, and demonstrate proficiency in using Yardi software. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to accurate financial operations and reporting within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: - Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and managed. - Process electronic payments and daily cash receipts, including conducting check runs and reconciliations. - Perform thorough bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. - Prepare and review financial statements and reports to assist in property management functions. - Maintain precise and organized financial records using Yardi software. - Collaborate with the finance team to resolve discrepancies and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. - Support compliance efforts by implementing and maintaining accounting standards. - Assist in optimizing accounting workflows and systems for improved efficiency. Requirements - At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate. - Proficiency in Yardi software and familiarity with its functionalities. - Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes. - Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting. - High ethical standards and reliability when handling sensitive financial information. - Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. - Solid problem-solving skills and the capacity to work independently. - Familiarity with accounting software systems and coding processes.
