Position: Part Time Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and efficient recording of our financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to our collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Recordkeeping: Accurately record financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Accounts Receivable Management: Post customer payments and maintain an up-to-date Accounts Receivable aging report as needed.
• Accounts Payable: Record vendor invoices, apply accounting judgment to code expenses to appropriate ledger accounts, obtain payment authorization, and schedule payments using the automated payable system.
• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank records to the general ledger accounts.
• Payroll Processing: Process online payroll and record transactions in the correct ledger accounts.
• Tax Filing: File sales and property taxes as required.
• Month-End Close: Collaborate with the Controller on the month-end close process.

Requirements:

• Education: Minimum 2-year degree in accounting; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
• Skills:
• Working knowledge of accrual basis accounting and payroll requirements.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with Bill.com, Gusto, and Shopify preferred.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to initiate process improvements and solve problems.
• Enthusiasm for learning and a creative mindset with the ability to suggest improvements.
