Job Description

Objective

To contribute to the success of transportation projects by providing high-quality traffic engineering expertise within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct traffic engineering analyses, including traffic impact studies, traffic calming studies, and transportation studies.
  • Design and develop traffic calming measures.
  • Prepare detailed traffic engineering plans and specifications for roadway improvement projects.
  • Collect and analyze field data, such as traffic counts and other relevant research.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other documentation.
  • Develop transportation-related plans and graphics using software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
  • Provide technical support for project meetings, client presentations, and proposals.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry standards, codes, and best practices in traffic engineering.
  • Collaborate effectively with Civil Engineers, Project Managers, and other team members.
  • Travel to job sites for field inspections, data collection, and client meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3-10yrs of relevant experience in Traffic Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required ; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) software is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD software is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with 1 a focus on detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel to project sites within the region as required.
