Location: Atlanta, GA (Sandy Springs)

Base Salary: $180,000–$200,000 + 15% bonus

 

Seeking candidates with:

  • Insurance accounting experience (IBNR, DAC, premium recognition, loss metrics/triangles).

  • Hands-on Planful and BlackLine expertise.

  • Recent ownership of technical GAAP external reporting .

Job Overview

The Director of Financial Reporting will oversee all financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, and senior leadership to support corporate strategy, cash flow management, capital deployment, and expense oversight.

This leader will direct FP&A functions across analysis, forecasting, and strategic initiatives, and must be able to manage the full spectrum of reporting and analysis in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial reporting function, ensuring compliance with Special-Purpose and GAAP standards.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to executives, supporting goal-setting, budgeting, and variance analysis.

  • Support the CFO in producing Board reporting packages and ad hoc presentations/forecasts.

  • Oversee preparation and filing of quarterly and annual financial statements in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Drive improvements in financial reporting technology, optimizing Planful and BlackLine and evaluating new tools.

  • Support the rollout of new partners and sales channels.

  • Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions.

  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • FP&A management experience in a fast-paced environment; Private Equity experience preferred.

  • Big 4, consulting, or investment banking background is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of insurance-related accounting (preferred).

  • Experience working at an insurance company or supporting insurance clients.

  • Proficiency in financial reporting tools; advanced Excel required .

  • U.S. work authorization and ability to pass a background check.
