Job Description
A PM will be required to perform the following general tasks:
- Plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish.
- Organize and oversee construction in the office and the field taking a project from the estimate or bid to implementation in the field.
- Ensure projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and profitable manner.
- Employ various construction methods to coordinate teams of professionals of many different disciplines and trades while navigating both public and private work.
- Experience preferred, above entry level, whether intermediate or extensive in nature
Responsibilities:
- Establish project schedule and submittal requirements based on distinct interpretation of project specifications, design plans, and bid estimate in the event of the award of any particular project.
- Specifications are interpretive, requiring select attention, depending on the project owner - whether MassDOT, ConnDOT, RIDOT, among other DOTs which are comingled with the various town requirements, design engineer parameters, etc.
- Solicit, organize, interpret quotes, and perform buyouts and procurement of all materials and services from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors while comparing the estimated budget.
- Plan takeoffs for quantities necessary for the procurement of materials.
- Perform all required submittals and administration to the project owners for approval based on the established or anticipated project schedule ensure materials, suppliers, and subcontractors deliver per the required schedule.
- Collaborate on resources for the projects such as personnel, equipment, work hours, etc.
- Prepare pay estimates and invoices in an organized manner to ensure prompt payment.
- Perform research & development for issues such as hindrances, delays, changes, claims, and unanticipated conditions that are eventually addressed by way of written correspondence to owners.
- Perform preparation of change orders and cost submissions, with appropriate detailed backup, developed in accordance with the contract specified format.
- Collaborate on tracking of costs as work progresses on site including the preparation of daily reports from the site to document the same.
- Collaborate on health and safety matters related to OSHA requirements for a safe workplace.
- Collaborate on equal employment opportunity goals set forth in contracts by owners as well as internally.
