Job Description

My client is seeking an outgoing, self-motivated Dental Hygienist for our busy dental practice. The chosen candidate will promote oral health by performing prophylaxis, periodontal treatment, oral cancer screenings, and take x-rays. Dental hygienist will electronically chart conditions of decay and disease, while performing procedures that are compliant with appropriate dental practices.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare patients for cleanings by checking for health changes, taking vitals, providing protective eye wear and bib, and ensuring their comfort

- Prepare treatment room for incoming patients, including keeping your operatory clean and stocked. - Provide patient education, answering questions and fulfilling any reasonable requests.

- Perform dental prophylaxis by cleaning stains and deposits from teeth and beneath gum margins.

- Educate the patient by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions and postoperative instructions.

- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping protected health information (PHI) confidential.

Skills:

- Good computer skills - Excellent communication and people skills - Attention to detail - Well-organized and reliable - Proven experience as dental hygienist is preferred - Knowledge of basic sterilization methods - Understanding of health & safety regulations, current OSHA/HIPPA training.
