Boka Restaurant Group , in partnership with The  Hoxton Chicago , is   currently seeking   a  Security Guard who will oversee Cira, Cabra, and Lazy Bird!

***Full & Part-Time positions available!***

***Five shifts a week total, including late nights; schedule may vary including weekends and holidays.***

General Description:  As the Cira/Lazy Bird/Cabra Security Supervisor, your main responsibility is to ensure the safety and protection of various BRG properties, the employees, and its guests. Reporting to management, ensuring high standards of hospitality and the safety of our guests and staff.

About The Hoxton Chicago:   The Hoxton, Chicago is  in the heart of Fulton Market District, one of Chicago's most creative neighbourhoods. The hotel houses three distanct BRG venues: Cira, a Mediterranean-inspired all-day restaurant located off the main lobby; Cabra, a Peruvian-inspired rooftop restaurant; and Lazy-Bird, a swanky speakeasy located on the lower level. 

Security Guard's Responsibilities:   

• Ensuring safety of all guests and employees within the restaurant, bar, and hotel premises.
• Work side by side with security personnel in an active role of security throughout the hotel.
• Handling security issues and/or emergency situations appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Reporting safety concerns and unusual circumstances to management.
• Maintain open lines of communication with all management to address any issues or concerns as they arise.
• Participating in property meetings as scheduled to address any issues.
• Assisting with various BRG special events as assigned by the management team.

  Qualifications:  

• 2 years experience in a similar role preferred
• Emotional intelligence and good character judgment
• Ability to assess your own behavior, while also paying attention to employees, patrons and visitors
• Listening skills
• Willingness to learn and enforce safety procedures
• Comfort with directing people or taking up leadership responsibilities
• Attention to detail

Physical Requirements:  

• Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds  
• Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals  
• Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces  
• Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments
