Job Description

Position: Traveling Skilled Laborer
Location: Mid-Regions of Arkansas
Hours: 40 hours per week with potential overtime
Pay Range: $24/hr+ based on prior experience

Company Overview:
Haren Construction Company, Inc. is a family-owned business specializing in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and heavy civil construction. We are currently licensed to perform work in 11 States throughout the Southeast. We are looking for qualified skilled laborers who are open to traveling across regions of Arkansas to be integral team members in the execution of our construction projects.

The candidate will work on multiple tasks, utilizing various skill sets to execute the work. The skilled laborer will receive assignments from the supervisor and will need to be able to perform tasks without close supervision. The ideal applicant should be driven, eager to learn, follow instructions, and complete assignments safely and efficiently.

Essential Responsibilities:
The skilled laborer position will include but is not limited to the following duties:
  • Be able to understand and work within company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist project team with pipework, framing, finish work, formwork, concrete placement and finishing, mechanical equipment installation, cleanup, and various tasks.
  • Receive assignments and instructions from project supervision and work independently or with a group of individuals to complete the assigned task(s) safely and efficiently.
  • Frequently use a variety of different hand and power tools used in construction such as air hammers, drills, hand tools, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
  • Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull. May be required to work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to travel regionally to project locations. (Compensation for travel beyond 60 miles of your residence will is available.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of practical commercial/industrial construction experience.
  • Proficient with the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Capable of using a tape measure and other basic layout tools.
  • Having your own basic hand tools is a plus. (Tool belt, framing hammer, tape measure, adjustable wrench, torpedo level, square, etc.)
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.
  • Prior experience assisting in pipe installations.
  • Prior experience handling concrete (forming, pouring, finishing).
